Geopolitics & Society

Observation and discussion of technological developments, political upheavals, and cultural changes.

Technological developments, political upheavals, cultural changes, but also geography and economic conditions accumulate worldwide to form geopolitical dynamics and disruptions that can be the origin of conflicts of various kinds.

So-called "hybrid warfare," or covert warfare, is far more complex in the digital age than ever before. Hybrid wars can give rise to local conflicts that, in turn, escalate into cross-border wars. These are fought technologically on a wide variety of levels and, in a very short time, fuel immense technological innovations that later find their way into civilian society.

In summary, understanding different disciplines in conjunction with the individual characteristics of a society – regardless of whether it is a consolidated democracy or a tribal society – is essential for planning one's actions meaningfully and with foresight.

Our Vision

As the founder of this platform, I and my co-authors come from diverse academic backgrounds. We are united by the desire to identify the connections that are particularly important for the development of our Western democracies. Our articles and publications aim to overcome traditional "silo thinking" and delve deeper into the interdisciplinary methodology of geopolitics.

Uncharacteristically for the often strict, straightforward, and linear perspective of Central European culture, we, as authors of this blog, dare to look beyond the horizon. In a world that is globally networked but increasingly multipolar, analysts, strategists, and authors must think multidimensionally.

We have set ourselves the goal of precisely this exchange and this diversity of perspectives.
